The Canadian Forest Service (CFS) produces a wide range of publications and gathers the content from many sources:

They can be grouped into two main categories:

Scientific and technical (S&T) publications

Documents written for a specialized audience that describe or interpret research; transfer the results of technological developments; provide technical data;  review or discuss scientific information to provide a basis for policies, strategies, and plans or to modify practices.

Examples of such publications are journal articles, review papers, proceedings contributions, scientific posters, information reports, tech-transfer notes, and strategic plans.  These documents can be published in a variety of formats including print format, PDF, CD/DVD or as a Web page.

General publications

Documents written and intended for the general public.

Examples are promotional pamphlets, educational kits for public schools, and posters. These documents can be published in a variety of formats including print format, PDF, CD/DVD, and Web product.
