Clinics

If you are planning to travel outside the country, you should consult a travel medicine clinic to find out what health precautions are needed for your destination.

Travel medicine clinics can advise you of the required and recommended health precautions you need before going on your trip through an individual risk assessment. Because each traveller is unique and has different health risks, it is very important to receive this individual risk assessment. You should visit a travel medicine clinic six to eight weeks before your trip, as some vaccinations you may require take several weeks to become active and may require more than one dosage.

When visiting a travel health clinic, it is suggested that you be able to provide:

  • your travel plans;
  • documentation of previous immunizations (if available); and
  • your health history.

Consult the listing of New window travel clinics across Canada to locate a travel clinic near you.
