Smart Driver for Forestry

SmartDriver for Forestry Trucks is the driver education component of FleetSmart and encourages energy efficiency in all fleet operations across Canada. Energy efficiency not only reduces the cost of operating forestry trucks, it also contributes to Canada's efforts to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.

Based on the original version of SmartDriver for Highway Trucking and modified in consultation with the forestry industry, SmartDriver for Forestry Trucks is specifically designed to meet the needs of this sector of the transportation industry. The training offers information on energy efficiency to fleet managers, instructors and drivers for all aspects of trucking, from spec'ing vehicles and components to maintenance procedures, conducting haul operations and driving techniques.

SmartDriver offers a series of questions that will test your knowledge of fuel efficiency and a set of graphics designed to help you select the most fuel-efficient engine size for your needs. All of this and more is presented in five modules that provide up to eight hours of training and can enhance other learning opportunities.
