Look for an Energy Management Service Provider

If you are applying for the ecoENERGY Retrofit Incentive for Buildings and do not have the resources to prepare your pre-project energy audit, you may need to hire a trained professional. Ensuring the services of a competent energy professional throughout your project will help you realize estimated energy savings.

Qualifications

A pre-project audit must be prepared by either a Professional Engineer, Certified Engineer Technologist, Architect or someone with similar qualifications and at least three years experience performing energy analyses of building systems. Unless you have a qualified individual within your organization, you will need to retain an outside service provider.

Directory of Service Providers

Natural Resources Canada's Office of Energy Efficiency maintains a searchable list of consultants and other service providers. The following directory will get you started. Please note however that this list does not pre-qualify firms to participate in funded projects. Use the name of a city near you to help narrow the search to your area. It is your responsibility to ensure that the service provider you select has the necessary qualifications and experience.

Other Search Methods

You may also have success in your local yellow pages phone directory or through an Internet search. You can try headings such as “Energy Consultants” or “Engineers”. If you speak to a service provider that normally handles larger projects, they may be able to recommend another local firm that employs engineering technologists.

Information for Service Providers

We also offer information for service providers that outlines how they can work with us.
