Transport Minister to present
Canadian Marine Safety Award in Ottawa

Media representatives are invited to attend the inaugural meeting of the Canadian Marine Advisory Council. The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, will present Transport Canada’s annual Marine Safety Award and will deliver remarks.

The Canadian Marine Advisory Council (CMAC) is Transport Canada's national consultative body for marine matters. Meetings are held twice a year in the spring and fall, both nationally in Ottawa and in each region. Members include representatives of individuals and parties that have a recognized interest in boating and shipping concerning safety, recreational matters, navigation, marine pollution and response and marine security.
