Support for an Updated the Model National Energy Code for Buildings (MNECB)

The Model National Energy Code for Buildings (MNECB) was released in 1997. This energy code represents a made-in-Canada standard for efficiency in buildings.

In February 2007 the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes, supported by all of the provinces and territories, agreed to update the MNECB as a progeny companion document to the National Building Code. This work is being undertaken with the financial support of Natural Resources Canada, which is participating throughout the process.
