In both its programs and activities, NRC-IFCI takes an aggressive, entrepreneurial approach to stimulate the innovation that Canada and Canadian firms need to succeed in the global knowledge economy. From collaborative R&D to licensing and the creation of new enterprises NRC-IFCI supports wealth creation through research and innovation.

This approach is designed to gain the most benefit and leverage from the knowledge and technologies that NRC-IFCI generates. It ensures that NRC-IFCI can work effectively to meet industry needs and match the capabilities of firms taking technologies to the market.

The NRC-IFCI Business Development Office (BDO) has experience and expertise in a range of services to develop and maintain these partnerships. The BDO is able to provide assistance in the implementation of collaborations, fee-for-service, and technology licensing for all of NRC-IFCI's research and development areas: PEMFC, SOFC, Hydrogen and Alternative Fuels, and Technology Demonstrations.
