Canadian Association for Community Care
The Canadian Association for Community Care (CACC) is a national, non-profit, bilingual association, formed in 1995. CACC's guiding principle is our commitment to a strong national voice for the community care sector. In our view, community care includes home-based care, facility-based long term care and community support programs, such as meal services. CACC's mission is to promote the development of a range of high-quality, flexible, responsive and accessible community care services within a seamless continuum of care.

There are 43 Community Care Access Centres throughout Ontario, they provide access for people who need in-home health services and support or accommodation in long-term care centres.

Community Services Coordination Network (CSCN)
The CSCN is a not-for-profit organization funded by the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services. The key function of CSCN is to coordinate access to various services and supports for adults with a developmental disability and for children and adolescents with complex needs that may require a response from more than one service provider.

Home Help/Home Maintenance Service
This support service is provided to assist clients, who meet eligibility criteria, with routine household activities such as light housekeeping. This service is ideal for vulnerable seniors and adults with physical disabilities who can no longer perform these tasks and need assistance in arranging help. Also available: support service that arranges for an indivdual worker to undertake a home maintenance and repair job.

Employment Insurance (E.I.)
Employment Insurance (EI) provides temporary financial assistance for Canadians who are unemployed, through no fault of their own, while they look for work or upgrade their skills. Canadians who are sick, pregnant or caring for a newborn or adopted child, as well as those who must care for a family member who is seriously ill with a significant risk of death, may also be assisted by Employment Insurance. There are no age restrictions on benefits. Seniors who become unemployed, but wish to continue working, are eligible for employment insurance benefits.
