Why become a member?

As globalization moves inexorably ahead, the companies with which you do business find themselves facing more and more complex challenges. Their needs in terms of information and business resources are constantly evolving. By joining CTN, you will be better equipped to respond to the requirements of SME's attempting to make their way in this new world economy. At the same time, you will increase the efficiency and quality of the services you offer to SME's.

CTN members come from both public and parapublic sectors. They share their know-how and their contacts, thereby providing access to the specialized resources which their clients require. All services developed by the Network promote exchange and collaboration with the objective of providing better service to SME's. Who can become a member?

Our members have won favour with SME's and their peers thanks to their expertise and the effectiveness of the actions they take. Upon request, they are able to provide three names of entrepreneurs satisfied with their services. Above all, they believe in the strength of networking. Does this profile match your own? Advisory Member and its CTN advisor(s)

Advisory members are public, parapublic and not-for-profit organizations. In particular, they play a role in providing information to SME's and referring them to other resources in function of their specific needs. These might include:

  • organizations offering assistance programs to companies;
  • economic development organizations; or
  • industrial associations.

These organizations are in a good position to assign the role of CTN advisor to a person in their ranks who is already working with SME's. This person will thus benefit from the services put at his or her disposal within the Network and be able to better fulfill their advisory role to SME's. In return, the person will contribute to the wealth of experience on the CTN advisory team. CTN advisors must offer their advice free of charge.

Conditions :
  • To assign the role of CTN advisor to at least one person on the advisory team whose profile corresponds to the Network's guidelines. See the profile.
  • To guarantee the availability of the CTN advisor so that he or she can adequately fulfill the role in question. See the roles and responsibilities of a CTN advisor.
  • To see that the advisor protects the confidentiality of all client files.
  • To ensure that all consulting services are offered free of charge, while avoiding any situation of conflict of interest between the CTN advisor and the services offered by his or her own organization.

Public Affiliate Member

These public, parapublic and not-for-profit organizations offer services to SME's linked to innovation or technology. They are empowered to carry out mandates which attract fees. In many cases, these organizations have R&D; resources, for example:

  • universities;
  • technology transfer colleges;
  • liaison and transfer centres.

Certain members offer other types of specialized services such as incubators. The Affiliate Members are ready to supply the names of three SME clients satisfied with their services, upon request.

Private affiliate member

These members are experts in innovation and technology from the private sector. Recognized for the superior quality of their actions and their contribution to the success of innovative SME's, they:

  • excel in their fields of expertise;
  • work in different sectors of activity;
  • subscribe to the values of CTN;
  • respect the Code of Ethics of the Quorum du RCT.

International member

International members are networks linking collaborative members that offer services to innovative SME's. They have the capability to help us find specialized resources for the SME's we serve in Quebec. In return, members of those networks have an interest in seeking out specialized resources in Quebec and in Canada for their own SME clients. They can ensure that contact with SME clients is facilitated.
