11/14/2007 Jean-Sebastien Giguere, G, Anh Giguere has stopped both shootout attempts he faced while winning each of his last two appearances. Giguere made 29 saves to help the host Ducks beat the Los Angeles Kings, 4-3, on Tuesday night. He had 22 saves before stopping both shootout attempts he faced in a 3-2 win over the visiting San Jose Sharks on Friday. Giguere is 10-14 in his career in shootouts, including a 3-1 mark this season.

Analysis: Giguere has improved to 13-9-3 with four ties, a 2.74 goals-against average and .907 save percentage while starting 28 of 29 career appearances against the Kings.
11/14/2007 Jason LaBarbera, G, LA LaBarbera's losing streak reached three games when he only stopped one of three shootout attempts as the Kings fell, 4-3, in a shootout on Tuesday at Anaheim. LaBarbera made 30 saves before he fell to 2-1 in shootouts in his career. LaBarbera is 0-2-1 with a 3.51 goals-against average in four appearances since Oct. 31. He was pulled in his previous outing on Saturday, when he allowed four goals on 21 shots in the first two periods.

Analysis: LaBarbera fell to 4-4-1 with a 2.60 goals-against average and .910 save percentage in 11 appearances -- 10 starts -- this season.
11/14/2007 Cory Stillman, LW, Car Stillman has recorded at least one point in 10 of his last 11 games. Stillman had his second multigoal performance of the season when he scored twice in a 4-3 win road win on Monday at Florida. His second goal occured with 1:06 left for the game-winner. The left wing has recorded the game-winner in two straight and three of four appearances. Stillman has four game-winning goals this season, increasing his career total to 37.

Analysis: Stillman has nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points in his last 11 games. In 15 games this season, the left wing has 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points. In his 775-game career, Stillman has recorded 221 goals and 340 assists for 561 points. Stillman has 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points in 33 career games against the Panthers.
11/14/2007 Ray Whitney, LW, Car Whitney extended his points streak to 10 games by contributing two assists in the Hurricanes' 4-3 win on Monday at Florida. Whitney has seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points in this run. In 18 games this season, the left wing has nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points. Whitney has 263 goals and 431 assists for 694 points in his 862-game career.

Analysis: Whitney has six goals and 14 assists for 20 points in 24 career meetings with the Panthers. Whitney has recorded at least one point in each of the last five meetings, recording two goals and five assists in that span. Whitney was part of the Panthers' organization from Nov. 6, 1997 until March 13, 2001, when he was traded to Columbus.
11/14/2007 Matt Cullen, C, Car Cullen may have started the season without a point in his first three games, but he has been hard to stop ever since. Cullen has recorded at least one point in 13 of his last 15 appearances. The center recorded two assists in the Hurricanes' 4-3 win on Monday at Florida in his first appearance since his eight-game points streak ended. Cullen has four goals and 16 assists in 18 games this season, all of which have come in the last 15 games.

Analysis: Cullen had a goal and 12 assists in that eight-game point run. He did not have a point while logging 17 minutes, 2 seconds of ice time in the Hurricanes' 5-3 victory on Saturday at Atlanta. The Hurricanes have won all five of the games in which Cullen has recorded at least two points this season. Cullen has five goals and nine assists for 14 points in 23 career games against Florida. He has a goal and four assists in a three-game series points streak against Panthers.
11/14/2007 Cam Ward, G, Car Ward won back-to-back road starts when he stopped 28 of 31 shots to help the visiting Hurricanes beat the Florida Panthers, 4-3, on Monday. He had made 32 saves in a 5-3 win on Saturday at Atlanta. Ward has improved to 9-3-2 with a 2.61 goals-against average and .914 save percentage in 14 starts this season. He improved to 3-1-0 with a 3.20 GAA and .901 save percentage in five career starts against Florida.
11/14/2007 Tomas Vokoun, G, Fla Vokoun made 32 saves, but his losing streak reached three games as the host Panthers lost, 4-3, to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night. Vokoun allowed a three goals in the third period, including Cory Stillman's winner with 1:06 left. The Hurricanes only took nine shots in the third period. Vokoun is 7-9-0 with a 3.12 goals-against average and .903 save percentage in 16 starts this season.

Analysis: Vokoun has dropped back-to-back home starts for the first time this season. He is 5-4-0 with a 3.13 goals-against average and .897 save percentage in nine starts as a host this season.
11/14/2007 Patrick Marleau, C, SJ After being shut out in four straight games, Marleau recorded two assists to help the host Sharks beat the Phoenix Coyotes, 5-0, on Monday night. It was Marleau's first multipoint appearance of the season. Marleau has three goals and four assists in 18 games this season. The center has 222 goals and 276 assists for 498 points in his 735-game career.

Analysis: Marleau has 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points in 53 career games against the Coyotes.
11/14/2007 Joe Thornton, C, SJ Thornton extended his points streak to three games when he had two goals and an assist in a 5-0 home win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday night. Thornton has three goals and three assists in this span. The three points tied a season high that Thornton previously set when he had a goal and two assists in 4-2 win on Oct. 15 at Vancouver.

Analysis: Thornton has recorded at least three points in a game 65 times in his career, playing for the winning side in 57 of those appearances. The Sharks are 6-0-1 in the seven games in which Thornton has recorded at least two points in a game this season, winning the last six. The center has 219 goals and 463 assists for 682 points in his 690-game career.
11/14/2007 Devin Setoguchi, RW, SJ Rookie Setoguchi had his second career multipoint game when he scored twice in the Sharks' 5-0 home win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday night. Setoguchi had scored twice in his NHL debut, helping the visiting Sharks beat the Dallas Stars, 4-2, on Oct. 29. The right wing has five goals and an assist in seven games this season.
11/14/2007 Evgeni Nabokov, G, SJ Nabokov recorded his second shutout of the season -- the 36th of his career -- when he made 25 saves in the Sharks' 5-0 home win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday night. His other shutout on the season took place when he made 22 stops in a 3-0 home victory over the Nashville Predators on Oct. 22. Nabokov is 3-1-1 with a 1.39 goals-against average and .937 save percentage in his last five games.

Analysis: Nabokov beat the Phoenix Coyotes at home for the second time in three days. He stopped 22 of 23 shots in a 4-1 win on Saturday. He is 9-7-2 with a 2.15 goals-against average and .909 save percentage in 18 starts this season. Nabokov has won each of his last four meetings against the Coyotes. He has improved to 13-10-1 with two ties, 2.54 goals-against average and .907 save percentage in 30 appearances against Phoenix.
11/14/2007 Mikael Tellqvist, G, Pho Tellqvist equaled his season high for goals allowed in a game on Monday. Tellqvist allowed five goals on 28 shots in the Coyotes' 5-0 loss on Monday at San Jose. Tellqvist has surrendered five goals on 42 shots in 5-2 home loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Oct. 20. He is 4-3-0 with a 2.58 goals-against average and .912 save percentage in seven starts this season.

Analysis: Tellqvist fell to 0-3-0 with a tie and a 3.93 goals-against average and .860 save percentage in four career starts against the Sharks. He has lost each of the last three meetings. In those three losses, Tellqvist has allowed at least four goals in each, including five in the last two.
11/14/2007 Scott Gomez, C, NYR In his return to New Jersey, Gomez provided two assists to help the Rangers beat the New Jersey Devils, 4-2, on Wednesday night. Gomez has at least one point in all seven of his games in November, totaling two goals and seven assists. The center has four goals and eight assists for 12 points in 18 games this season for the Rangers, who signed him to a seven-year, $51.5 million deal.

Analysis: Gomez has a goal and two assists in three games against the Devils this season, but this was his first appearance at the new Prudential Center. Gomez had 116 goals and 450 points while playing for the Devils for seven seasons, helping New Jersey win two Stanley Cup titles.
11/14/2007 Jaromir Jagr, RW, NYR Jagr has recorded at least one point in four of his last five appearances. The right wing had a goal and an assist to help the visiting Rangers top the New Jersey Devils, 4-2, on Wednesday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Jagr has two goals and four assists in this five-game span. The Rangers are 5-1-0 in the six games in which Jagr has recorded at least two points in a game this season.

Analysis: Jagr has four goals and 13 assists for 17 points in 18 games this season. He has 625 goals and 920 assists for 1,545 in his 1,209 game career. Jagr was pointless in two appearances against the Devils this season. He has 32 goals and 49 assists for 81 points in 86 career games against the Devils.
11/14/2007 Ilya Kovalchuk, LW, Atl Kovalchuk had his first game-winning goal of the season when he scored 25 seconds into overtime to lift the host Thrashers to a 3-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night. It was the 28th game-winner of Kovalchuk's career after he had seven in each of the previous two seasons. Kovalchuk finished with a goal and an assist in his first appearance since a four-game scoring streak ended in a 5-3 home loss to Carolina on Saturday.

Analysis: Kovalchuk has nine goals and four assists in his last five games. The left wing has 15 goals and 10 assists for 25 points in 18 games this season. The Thrashers 28-4-2 with a tie when Kovalchuk records at least three points in game, including a 4-1-0 mark in those performances this season. In his 405-game career, Kovalchuk has 217 goals and 187 assists for 404 points.
11/14/2007 Marian Hossa, RW, Atl Hossa has scored in three straight games and he has recorded at least one point in five of his last six appearances. Hossa had a goal and an assist in the Thrashers' 3-2 home win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday. The right wing has four goals and two assists in his last three games while totaling five goals and four assists over his last six appearances. He only has seven goals and five assists for 12 points in 15 games this season.

Analysis: Hossa increased his career totals to 277 goals, 317 assists and 594 points over 644 games. The Thrashers are 4-1-0 in the five games this season in which Hossa has recorded two points. Hossa has 27 goals and 26 assists for 53 points in 42 career games against the Panthers. The right wing has at least one point in five straight meetings, totaling four goals and four assists in that span.
11/14/2007 Todd White, C, Atl The Thrashers improved to 3-0 when White records two points in a game this season after he had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 overtime win over the visiting Panthers on Tuesday night. White had a goal and an assist against the Rangers on Oct. 18 and on Oct. 23 at Toronto. White has four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 18 games this season. The center has 101 goals and 153 assists for 254 points in his 432-game career.
11/14/2007 Johan Hedberg, G, Atl Hedberg's winning streak reached three games when he made 19 saves as the host Thrashers beat the Florida Panthers, 3-2, on Tuesday night. Hedberg was pulled after 32 minutes, 3 seconds in his previous appearance on Nov. 1, when he did not have a decision despite allowing four goals on 19 shots in the Thrashers' 6-4 loss at Ottawa. Hedberg is 5-4-0 with a 3.59 goals-against average and .886 save percentage in 11 appearances this season.

Analysis: Hedberg has been challenged for playing time by Ondrej Pavelec after that Nov. 1 appearance. The rookie, a second-round draft pick in 2005, had started all four of the Thrashers' game since before Tuesday. Of Hedberg's nine starts, this was his first at home. Hedberg played as a substitute in an Oct. 18 home win over the New York Rangers.
11/14/2007 Craig Anderson, G, Fla Anderson remained winless as he made his first start since Oct. 18 on Tuesday. Anderson made a season-high 30 saves, but the visiting Panthers lost, 3-2, to the Atlanta Thrashers in overtime to drop a fourth straight game. Anderson started after Tomas Vokoun took the loss in a 4-3 home defeat to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday. Anderson is 0-2-1 with a 2.69 goals-against average and .904 save percentage in three starts this season, all on the road.

Analysis: Among winless goaltenders, only Atlanta's Kari Lehtonen (0-4-0) and Tampa Bay's Marc Denis (0-3-0) have more regulation losses than Anderson this season. All three play for Southeast Division teams.
11/14/2007 David Booth, LW, Fla Booth finished with a goal and an assist for a second straight day, but the Panthers' losing streak reached four games with a 3-2 overtime loss on Tuesday at Atlanta. Both had a goal and an assist in the Panthers' 4-3 home loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday. Booth has four goals and two assists in 18 games this season. He has three goals and two assists in his last five games.

Analysis: Before this two-game spurt, Booth only had one other game in which he ended with a multipoint performance over his two-season career. Booth had two assists in an 8-5 home win over the New York Islanders on March 17.
