The Biosphère and the Biodôme of Montreal joined forces
for a Great Cleanup

Sylvie Mallette, Louis-Philippe Gauthier and Chantal Rouleau, Director of the ZIP Jacques-CartierOn September 15th, in spite of gloomy weather and showers, about 65 persons took part in the Great Cleanup of the banks of the André-Corbeil-dit-Tranchemontagne Park along the Rivière des Prairies. Organized jointly by the Biosphère and the Biodôme of Montréal, the event made it possible to collect 270 kilograms of waste in less than three hours. Among odd objects collected, let us mention a part of a car engine and a DVD player.  A group of 15 boy scouts, members of ZIP Jacques-Cartier and about ten young families counted among the participants.

A part of the volunteers from the Biosphère, the Biodôme of Montréal and the Scouts group of Rivière-des-PrairiesThe Biosphère thanks all those who contributed to offer a beauty treatment to the banks of the park. The event was part of a new Biosphère’s partnership with the Vancouver Aquarium for the TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup which takes place annually throughout Canada during the 3rd week of September.
