11/15/2007 Marleau converted a shootout attempt for the first time in his career to help the visiting Sharks avoid a collapse and beat the host Dallas Stars, 4-3, on Wednesday. Marleau had missed his only other shootout attempt this season and was 0-for-7 before Wednesday. Marleau made his shot in the second round to clinch it after Devin Setoguchi came through in the first. Dallas missed both of its chances.
11/14/2007 After being shut out in four straight games, Marleau recorded two assists to help the host Sharks beat the Phoenix Coyotes, 5-0, on Monday night. It was Marleau's first multipoint appearance of the season. Marleau has three goals and four assists in 18 games this season. The center has 222 goals and 276 assists for 498 points in his 735-game career.
10/5/2007 Marleau made the Sharks' final attempt in the shootout in the fourth round, and did not convert as they fell, 3-2, on Thursday night at Edmonton. Marleau has missed all seven of his career shootout attempts, only one last season. The only player who has more all-time attempts without converting in a shootout is Marian Gaborik, who has taken eight shots. Marleau's goal opened the scoring 26 seconds into the third period.
8/31/2007 Marleau agreed to a two-year contract extension with the San Jose Sharks on Friday, keeping the longtime captain with the club through 2010. After months of negotiations and public speculation on Marleau's future, he finalized a deal two weeks before training camp opens to stay with the club that drafted him in 1997.
