APPOINTMENT TO TORONTO PORT AUTHORITY

OTTAWA — The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the appointment of Mr. Mark McQueen to the Toronto Port Authority's board of directors as a users' representative, for a term of three years. Mr. McQueen is the president and chief executive officer of Wellington Financial LP, a Canadian specialty finance firm.

"I am pleased that Mr. McQueen has agreed to serve on the board of the Toronto Port Authority," said Minister Cannon. "His expertise in financial services as well as his broad experience with boards of directors will serve the board well."

After completing his studies at the University of Western Ontario in 1988, Mr. McQueen worked as an executive assistant and advisor in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada. In 1993 he joined a Canadian chartered bank, serving in both corporate and investment banking roles until 2000. He was managing director and head of technology investment banking of an independent investment bank from January 2000 until December 2004, when he joined Wellington Financial on a full-time basis. He serves on the boards of the Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association, and Nexient Learning Inc. He is also a past member of the board of governors of the University of Western Ontario and the board of directors of EnGlobe Corp., Intrinsyc Software and Top Aces Inc.

The Toronto Port Authority was established to manage the Port of Toronto. It benefits from greater management flexibility, including increased freedom to develop contracts and borrow money from commercial lenders.

The Port of Toronto, situated in the downtown core of Canada's largest city, provides transportation, distribution, storage and container services to businesses in the Greater Toronto Area, and serves as an important link to other ports in the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway System. Immediate access to marine, highway and rail facilities makes the port a transportation hub for Ontario, northwestern Quebec, upstate New York and Ohio. In 2006, the port handled over 2.1 million tonnes of cargo.
