• Canadian Navy’s Environmental Practices in Arctic Waters
  The navy abides by the principles of due diligence and environmental stewardship and makes every effort to minimize the impact of naval operations on the environment.

• Arctic/offshore patrol ships
  In the current and future security environment, the Government of Canada must have effective tools for exercising control of Canada’s Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs, or 200 nautical mile limit) in all three oceans, particularly the Arctic.

• Halifax-class modernization (HCM) / Frigate life extension (FELEX)
  The HCM/FELEX project will manage both the modernization of the combat systems and a planned mid-life ship refit program to ensure the frigates remain effective to the projected end of their service life.
