Overview of Travel AcXess Voyage Portal
A new suite of integrated Travel AcXess Voyage services,
including a portal, an On-line Booking Tool (OBT) and an electronic
Profile, was launched November 24, 2004 and is available at
http://travel-voyage.gc.ca.
The portal is your gateway to the new on-line travel services. With
a single login, you will have access to multiple travel tools and
information sources. You will also be able to book and manage travel
through the OBT, update your contact and travel preference
information in your Profile, download training materials, view fare
quote information, and more. While the full-service travel agency
and the Support Desk will be available to assist you, note that OBT
transaction fees are significantly lower than those of the agency.
For reference purposes, a tip sheet has been designed to help you
navigate easily through the Travel AcXess Voyage on-line tools. The
tip sheet outlines the steps required to access and use the portal
and OBT: request a Traveller Identification Number (TIN), obtain a
temporary password, complete the New User setup, update your Profile
and match it with your X.400 e-mail address if you have one, and
obtain a department Travel Authorization Number (TAN).
Portal Access
A Traveller Identification Number (TIN) and password are required
to log in to the portal. If you have a TIN and an X.400 e-mail
address associated with your Profile, you will automatically receive
an e-mail with a temporary password. You should receive this e-mail
during the week of November 22nd.
If you have an X.400 e-mail address but have not received your
temporary password by November 26th, and you need to book or manage
travel in the next few weeks, please contact the Travel AcXess
Voyage Support Desk at 1-800-514-3798 to obtain your temporary
password.
If you do not have an X.400 e-mail address and need to book or
manage travel in the next few weeks, contact the Support Desk to
receive your temporary password.
For additional portal login and usage details, please see the Travel
AcXess Voyage tip sheet.
If you have immediate travel-related needs
The following Travel AcXess Voyage users are encouraged to access
and use the portal immediately following the November 24th launch:
- SFTOs
- Travel Arrangers
- Frequent Travellers
- Trainers
- Departmental Administrators
- VIPs
For employees who will have travel needs toward the end of
December and beyond, we encourage you to log in to the portal closer
to your time of travel. Doing so will allow the Travel AcXess Voyage
Support Desk to focus on serving those employees with immediate
travel needs.
Profile Updates
To begin booking and managing your travel, we recommend that you
update your Profile. Please remember that once you have updated your
Profile, there is a two hour delay between completing it and being
able to access the OBT to book travel.
Once your Profile has been updated and the two hour delay has
passed, you will have access to the On-line Booking Tool.
When you update your Profile, here is a helfpul hint:
Do not leave any spaces when entering your government travel card
number.
If you are a Travel Arranger
If you book travel for others, please complete the following
actions as soon as possible after the November 24th launch:
- Designate yourself as a Travel Arranger by updating the
Department tab in your Profile. To do so:
- Navigate to the Department tab of your Profile, locate the
"Other Personal Information" heading, and select the "I am a
Travel Arranger" box
- Ensure that your travellers select you as their Travel
Arranger in their Profile as this will permit you to book travel
on behalf of your travellers. To do so, your travellers will
need to:
- Navigate to the Department tab of the Profile, locate the
"Authorized Traveller Arrangers" heading, and select "Click here
to select a Primary Arranger".
Training and Support Tools
In addition to the tip sheet, training materials can be found on
the Learning and Help pages of the Travel AcXess Voyage portal at
http://travel-voyage.gc.ca.
For further assistance please contact your SFTO, local Departmental
Travel AcXess Voyage Trainer, or the Travel AcXess Voyage Support
Desk at 1-800-514-3798.
