While you’re travelling…
When you are travelling, use your Designated Travel Card (DTC) for all your
business expenses. Your card provides comprehensive service. It is accepted at almost all
destinations, and the insurance program negotiated for Government of Canada employees offers
coverage that is superior to most other cards.
In addition, using your DTC will make it easier for you to complete your Expense Report
when your travel is complete. It will also ensure you are reimbursed promptly once you have
submitted your Expense Report.
If you incur non-DTC expenses (e.g. for meals, taxi fares, etc.) while you are travelling,
make sure to keep all your receipts and include them in your Expense Report.
