11/11/2007 Despite a second-period goal from Ovechkin, the host Capitals lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning, 5-2, on Saturday. The Lightning closed with a 4-1 third period. The Capitals are 41-38-9 when Ovechkin scores at least one goal in his three-season career, including a 4-6-0 mark this season. Ovechkin has scored in back-to-back games, giving him 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points in 17 games this season.
11/9/2007 After going without a point in his last two games, Ovechkin contributed a goal and an assist for the visiting Capitals in their 4-1 win over Ottawa on Thursday. It was the left wing's first point since he had a goal in last Friday's win over Philadelphia. Ovechkin has five multipoint games this season, and this was his first such effort since he had two goals in a win at Toronto on Oct. 29. 10/6/2007 Ovechkin provided an assist on a third-period goal to help the visiting Capitals defeat the Atlanta Thrashers, 3-1, on Friday night in a season-opener. It was Ovechkin's 101st assist and increased his point total to 199. The Capitals will host the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday. Ovechkin has 10 goals and eight assists for 18 points in 16 games against the Hurricanes, including a two-goal performance in a March 22 road loss in his last meeting.
