11/11/2007 Sundin missed a second-round shootout attempt as the host Maple Leafs lost to the New York Rangers, 3-2, on Saturday. The Maple Leafs missed both of their shootout chances, and the Rangers went 2-for-2 on theirs. Sundin has missed both of his shootout tries this season, falling to 7-for-20 in his career in those situations. Sundin is among 17 players who have taken at least 20 shootout attempts. Jussi Jokinen has the most at 26.
11/10/2007 Sundin had a goal and an assist as the visiting Maple Leafs beat the Buffalo Sabres, 3-0, on Friday night. Sundin has at least one point in four of his last five games, a span in which he has totaled three goals and two assists. The Maple Leafs are 3-2-2 in the seven games in which Sundin has recorded at least two points this season. The center has nine goals and 14 assists in 17 games.
11/3/2007 Sundin scored for the visiting Maple Leafs in their 3-2 loss to New Jersey on Friday. The center has at least a point in all but one of his last seven games in which he's totaled four goals and six assists for Toronto. Sundin has seven goals and 13 assists in 14 games this season. He is tied with Calgary's Jarome Iginla for second in the NHL with 20 points, trailing Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg for the lead (24).
10/29/2007 Sundin and Bryan McCabe did not participate in practice on Sunday to rest for the grind of the season, The Toronto Star reported. Sundin also missed the morning skate on Saturday before the Maple Leafs' 4-1 road win over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Sundin's game status should not be affected. The center has six goals and 12 assists for 18 points in 12 games.
10/24/2007 Sundin had a third straight multipoint finish, recording at least two points for the fourth time in his last five games, but the host Maple Leafs lost to the Atlanta Thrashers, 5-4, in a shootout on Tuesday night. The center missed his shootout attempt, though. The Thrashers had a 2-1 edge in the shootout. Sundin has three goals and four assists in his last three games.
10/21/2007 Sundin scored twice, but the visiting Chicago Blackhawks rallied to beat the Maple Leafs, 6-4, on Saturday. It was the center's fifth multipoint game and his second straight effort as he had two assists in Thursday's win over Florida. It was also his first multigoal game since he scored twice in a win over Edmonton on Feb. 17. Sundin has five goals and nine assists in nine games this season.
10/19/2007 Sundin assisted on two goals, and the host Maple Leafs defeated Florida, 3-2, on Thursday. It was the center's third multipoint game of the season and his first since a two-point effort in a loss to Pittsburgh last Saturday. Sundin has three goals and nine assists in eight games this season, getting at least a point in all but one of those appearances. He was held pointless in an overtime loss at Buffalo on Monday.
10/14/2007 Sundin posted his third multipoint performance of the season, but the host Maple Leafs fell, 6-4, to Pittsburgh on Saturday. Still, Sundin has at least a point in each of his six games this season, totaling three goals and seven assists for the Maple Leafs.
10/12/2007 Sundin broke the Maple Leafs' two biggest scoring records Thursday night. The center's 390th goal for his 917th point moved him ahead of Darryl Sittler for club-leading records in both categories, and host Toronto beat the New York Islanders 8-1. The goal also extended his points streak to five games in which he has two goals and six assists. Sundin joined the Leafs' franchise before the 1994-95 season. Sittler, meanwhile, was with Toronto for 12 seasons from 1970-82.
10/7/2007 Sundin needed a goal to set the Maple Leafs' franchise record for goals. He didn't get it. Sundin had three assists instead, including one in overtime, as the host Maple Leafs topped the Montreal Canadiens, 4-3, on Saturday night. The three assists tied a career high that was established 22 times previously, including three games last season.
10/5/2007 Sundin scored once, but the visiting Maple Leafs lost, 3-2, on Thursday night at Ottawa, their second straight one-goal defeat in the home-and-home set. Sundin tied Darryl Sittler (1970-71-81-82) for the most goals in Maple Leafs' franchise history with 389. The Maple Leafs host Montreal on Saturday.
