11/14/2007 Backstrom suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this season when he surrendered three goals on 28 shots in the Wild's 3-2 loss on Tuesday at Calgary. He had 22 saves and three goals allowed in a 5-2 loss on Sunday. Backstrom played despite being day-to-day because of a groin injury. He has lost four straight road starts, falling to 1-3-1 with a 3.15 goals-against average and .881 save percentge in five road appearances.

10/22/2007 Backstrom responded after suffering his first loss of the season, stopping 29 of 31 shots as the host Wild beat the Colorado Avalanche, 3-2, on Sunday night. The Wild had built a 2-0 lead before giving up two goals in the second period before Mikko Koivu provided an unassisted goal as the winner with 3:04 left. This was Backstrom's first outing since he did not stop any of three shootout attempts after making 26 saves in a 4-3 loss on Oct. 16 at Los Angeles.

Backstrom had made 27 saves in a 1-0 home win over the Chicago Blue Jackets two days earlier. Backstrom had only come off the bench in his only previous encounter with the Blue Jackets.
10/5/2007 Backstrom made 27 saves to help the host Wild beat the Chicago Blackhawks, 1-0, in a season-opener on Thursday night. Backstrom had five shutouts last season, the most among first-year goaltenders. Thursday night was Backstrom's first against the Blackhawks. He improved to 15-1-4 with a 1.39 goals-against average and .948 save percentage in 21 regular-season appearances at home.
