1 - How do I search on a specific word (e.g. Chief)?
Use the Advanced Search option. When "Search" is clicked, a search is carried out for all entries. You will get a list of all the entries in which that field contain the text entered. To get the exact value, enter the text between quotes (e.g.: "chief").
To search on an empty value, enter quotes with nothing in between (e.g. " ").
2 - I click on the "Show Map" button but nothing happens. Why?
In order for the "Show Map" button to work you must make sure that JavaScript is enabled for you browser.
3 - I tried to do a search for all employees using a specific Fax number and I received a message of "No Entries Found". I know of several names that should have appeared? Why did I get the message?
When searching by Fax numbers, it is necessary to type in the fax number, with area code, in the proper format (xxx) xxx-xxxx.
4 - How can I limit my search to a specific organization?
By default, the search is done on the complete directory. To limit your search to a specific organization,
5 - To search for an employee by phone number, do I have to put in the area code?
No. Any portion of the phone number will do.
6 - When I click search in the button bar at the top of the page, am I searching the same information as when I search using the left menu?
No. The search button in the navigation bar at the top of the page will search all the files in AAFC Online. The search in left menu will search the DirectInfo database. Use this option for all your directory queries.
