The Pan-Canadian Education Indicators Program (PCEIP) is an ongoing initiative of CESC to provide a set of statistical measures on education systems in Canada. Policy makers, practitioners, and the general public can use these indicators to develop an understanding of the performance of education systems in Canada and to inform decisions about priorities and directions.
The first PCEIP report, Education Indicators in Canada 1996, was based on an initial indicator set and framework. The subsequent reports released in 1999, 2003, and 2005 are available at Statistics Canada. Key tables from the report are updated twice annually.
The PCEIP reports include information about demographic trends, education finance, enrolment, graduation, student achievement, educators, adult education and training, and transitions to the labour market. The tables in the reports allow readers to compare data for provinces and territories on a number of issues.
