Instructions on how to obtain and assemble your workbook
There has been a minor change in plans regarding the distribution of documents for the Third National Forum on Education. Rather than receiving the forum workbook (binder) in St. Johns, as indicated in the original invitation, registered participants have been mailed the workbook, a table of contents, and a series of dividers as part of their confirmation package.
Most of the documents have been or will be posted on the CMEC Web site, and participants who have access to the Internet should download the documents and insert them in the workbook under the appropriate tabs.
Registered participants who indicated that they require a hard copy, will receive the material with their confirmation packages.
The list of participants and the small group assignments can only be finalized at the last minute. They will be provided in hard copy to all participants in St. John's.
How to download the documents
Documents for the forum will be made available in two formats:
- PDF (Portable Document Format): a free software package called Acrobat Reader is required to display and print documents converted to this format. Because the conversion process is very quick, documents will be made available in that format first. If you don't have Acrobat Reader, click here to obtain the version that is specific to your computer.
- HTML (the standard way to display documents on the Web): the process for converting documents to this format is more labour-intensive; accordingly, the HTML version of documents will be made available after the PDF version.
PDF documents are preferable because standardized format and pagination will be assured. If documents formatted in HTML are downloaded, format and pagination will be inconsistent, making references to specific parts of the text difficult in small-group discussions.
