Energy, and the essential role it plays in today's society, is a complex topic for elementary school children. The theme of the Government of Canada's ecoENERGY Efficiency Initiative – using less, living better – provides a practical introduction to the subject. It can be used to help kids understand the relationship between energy production and use and environmental problems such as smog and climate change.
