Aboriginal Training Program in Museum Practices

The Aboriginal Training Program in Museum Practices provides Aboriginal people with professional and technical training in museum practices as well as internship opportunities at the Canadian Museum of Civilization.

Eligibility Information

Candidates for the training component must meet the following criteria:

  • have completed grade 12 (or secondaire IV in Quebec)
    OR
  • have less than a grade 12 education and experience in Aboriginal culture interpretation or preservation, or related skills
  • other criteria may apply

Candidates for the internship component must meet the following criteria:

  • have completed all or part of a post-secondary program in museology, arts or social sciences
  • other criteria may apply

Application Information

Applications must contain the following documents:

  • a current résumé
  • a one-page statement of interest in the Program
  • two letters of reference from an Aboriginal community or organization, or from individuals in a position of authority

Dates and Deadlines

  • The annual application deadline is March 15.
