Ways to save

Commuter Pass
Passport to the city!

VIA Rail's Commuter Passes let you travel between two neighbouring cities in the comfort of a car - a train car, that is. Wave goodbye to the endless hours wasted in traffic jams, the honking of horns and the curses of overheated drivers! Instead, relax as you sip your hot coffee and read your favourite newspaper, while VIA Rail gets you to your destination. You'll arrive downtown in no time at all, fresh and ready for action!

Commuter Passes are extremely handy. You can choose between two convenient passes, both of which are valid within your chosen zone in southern Québec or southern Ontario.

  • The 10 round-trip Commuter Pass is valid for 30 days, starting on the first day you use it.
  • The Monthly Commuter Pass is valid for unlimited travel during one calendar month, starting on the first day of the month and ending on the last day.

Other significant benefits:

  • New! Your Monthly Commuter Pass may be eligible for the new non-refundable federal tax credit. For more information about claiming your credit, visit TransitPass.ca.
  • No need to purchase your ticket days in advance to get the best fare.
  • When purchased online, Commuter Passes are delivered directly to your home or office for a small $10 service charge (plus applicable taxes). Please allow 6 days for delivery.

Many destinations, competitive fares

You can choose the zone that suits you from among over forty zones available, including:

  • Montréal-Drummondville
  • Toronto-Cobourg
  • Toronto-Kitchener
  • Toronto-Brantford
  • Toronto-St. Catharines

You can travel between all the destinations located inside the zone covered by your Commuter Pass. For example, if you choose the Montréal-Drummondville zone, you are also permitted to embark or disembark at stations located between Montréal and Drummondville, such as Saint-Lambert.

A competitive choice

Compare the cost per trip using our Commuter Passes with that of regular tickets, and see how much money you can save!
