Canadian fashion on the red carpet

When design guru Philippe Starke and iconic fashion house Missoni grace the front rows and runways of Toronto’s Canadian Fashion Week, it’s clear that Canadian designers are now competing on an international level.

Setting trends instead of following them, Canadian designers are pushing the couture envelope this year: Andy Thê-Anh’s 40’s silhouettes are bringing sexy back, and Hoax’s oxblood-lined Chinese silk jackets are whetting the appetites of Hollywood rock stars. From fairy-tale styles to unabashed sexiness, here’s a look at next season’s highlights. On location at Toronto's meticulously restored, double-decker Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres.
