Privacy Statement

The Government of Canada is committed to providing measures that respect and value your privacy and security. This page summarizes the privacy policy and practices that apply to your epass.

The personal information you provide in order to register for your epass is collected under the authority of the Department of Public Works and Government Services Act. Your personal information includes your User ID, Password and Recovery Questions, Answers and Hints. We will use this information only for the purposes of allowing you to communicate electronically with the Government service with which you choose to exchange information, and to allow you to securely sign Government of Canada electronic documents.

All personal information required for your epass is protected under the federal Privacy Act. According to the Privacy Act, you have rights with respect to the information you submit. You may upon request:

  • be given access to your file; and/or
  • have incorrect information corrected or have a notation attached.

It is suggested that you forward your request in writing to the Privacy coordinator(s) of the program(s) or service(s) with which you have used your epass.
