 Parliament of Canada
House of Commons Section
Members of the House of Commons who Crossed the Floor of the House of Commons or who Changed Political Affiliation
This List includes MPs who have changed parties during a Parliament as well as those who got elected first as a member of one party and then later of another. However, MPs who switched allegiance before an election and were defeated are not included unless later re-elected. Because of the difficulty in tracing MPs who have switched party allegiance in the past and the inadequacies of printed sources the present listing may not be complete. The following publications were used as source material: House of Commons Debates, Canadian Parliamentary Guides, Canadian Directory of Parliament, Canadian News Facts, press clippings, as well as various political textbooks and biographies.
