Description

8 Weatherhaven structures: 1 with running water; 1 Quonset hut or 2-bay garage; 2 Outhouses and 3 Sheds. Facility can accommodate 6 staff members and 12 researchers for sleeping. All have oil burner furnaces.

Rules and regulations

NATIONAL PARKS ACT, REGULATIONS

Mandatory Registration and Orientation. No firearms. Pack in/pack-out policy. Do not feed/disturb wildlife. No one is permitted within 1km of wolf dens.

PLEASE check with Ellesmere Island National Park Reserve for complete list of regulations.

Twin Otter and helicopter.

Aircraft fuel available at Facility

Both Parks Canada and Polar Continental Shelf Project maintain fuel caches at Tanquary Fiord for operational needs only, except in the case of an emergency.

Vehicle fuel available at facility

Parcs Canada maintient des caches à carburant pour des besoins d'exploitation seulement et en cas d'urgence.
