Eureka Weather Station (Longitude, Latitude) : ( 85 48 W, 79 59 N ) Eureka, Ellesmere Island, Nunavut, Canada
Main complex consists of several permanent buildings with electricity and heat; operations/accommodations building, maintenance garage, powerhouse, transient barracks, warehouse, vehicle garage, and various other buildings. Main complex sleeps 20 transient personnel, transient barracks sleeps 12. Operations/accommodation building has drinking water, showers, flush toilets, laundry facilities, recreation room, reading/meeting room, TV room, kitchen/dining room. Electricity is provided by diesel-powered generators. Heat is provided by oil furnaces, electric heaters, and a heat recovery system.
Visitor Permit and Waiver must be completed and approved. Other permits may be required by federal and territorial governments depending on the work being conducted.
