  • 11/27/2007 - US and Canadian Sailors Recognized For Ocean Surveillance
    The Commander of Canadian Maritime Forces Pacific has commended the Canadian/United States team that keeps watch over the Pacific Ocean approaches to North America from the Naval Ocean Processing Facility (NOPF) at Whidbey Island, located north of Seattle, Wash.

  • 11/27/2007 - Artillery Fire Heralds Avalanche Control in BC Mountains
    Soldiers from 1 Royal Canadian Horse Artillery stationed at Canadian Forces Base Shilo in Manitoba arrived at Rogers Pass this week where they will assist Parks Canada’s Avalanche Control (AVCON) program. The soldiers fire 105-millimetre Howitzers to trigger avalanches to reduce the danger of naturally occurring avalanches.

  • 11/23/2007 - Ships Use Grey Cup Energy To Raise Money For Charity
    This Sunday, fans of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Manitoba Blue Bombers serving in HMC ships Regina and Winnipeg along with those of the naval reserve divisions in those cities will be cheering for their teams.  The two warships based in Victoria, B.C. have paired up with their sister Naval Reserve Divisions, HMCS Queen in Regina and HMCS Chippewa in Winnipeg, in a friendly bet on who will win the Grey Cup.

  • 11/16/2007 - Reserve Sailors To Conduct Port Security Exercise
    Approximately 50 Reserve Force sailors from Naval Reserve Divisions located throughout western Canada (Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, Calgary, Vancouver and Victoria) will be conducting port security training this weekend in Victoria Harbour.

  • 11/7/2007 - BC Residents Appointed To The Order Of Military Merit
    A Canadian Forces Reserve Surgeon and senior non-commissioned Physicians Assistance are among 47 Regular and Reserve Canadian Forces personnel who will be appointed to the Order of Military Merit in Ottawa on Friday (Nov.9).
