The Department of National Defence web site does not automatically gather
any specific personal information from you, such as your name, phone number

All personal information created, held or collected by the Department

The Department of National Defence employs software programs to monitor

The Department of National Defence occasionally uses "cookies"
as one method of gathering the anonymous information used to improve the

is placed on your hard drive by a Web site. On those sites which do use
cookies, the Important Notices (located at the bottom of the page) indicate
specifically how they are used, and their use respects the provisions
of the Privacy
Act. As with other types of information-gathering, cookies are never
used to gather specific personal information such as your name, your phone
number or your e-mail address. We never attempt to link the information
gathered through the use of cookies to the identity of the visitor.
Information on individual visitors, gathered under the conditions described
above, is used by the Department of National Defence employees who need
to know the information in order to respond to your request or to ensure
the security of this system. We only share the information you give us
with another government department if your inquiry relates to that department.
We do not use the information to create individual profiles, nor do we
disclose this information to anyone outside the federal government.
