"Rocket" Richard: The Legend – The Legacy

This exhibition celebrates Maurice Richard, a Canadian sports hero who transcended the world of sport. The exhibition presents the collection from the estate of hockey star Maurice "The Rocket" Richard, acquired by the Museum in 2002. The visitor will have a chance to learn more about the French Canadian milieu circa 1940 to 1960, the importance of hockey to that milieu, and why Richard achieved the status of an idol, i.e. shows how Richard and hockey demonstrated the special relationship of French Canada to the rest of Canada.
