The NRC Institute for Information Technology (NRC-IIT) is committed to disseminating, and facilitating access to, the results of its research.

To that end, NRC-IIT publishes its research results, hosts a colloquium series for information exchange, collaborates with university and industry associations, provides specialized facilities and expertise and incubates new companies in its Industry Partnership Facilities.

The following services have been designed with NRC-IIT's partners’ needs in mind.

Industry Partnership Facilities

NRC-IIT's Industry Partnership Facilities are designed to assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) working in the information and communications technology sector exploit emerging technologies in collaboration with NRC-IIT, while providing an environment in tune with their needs.

Industry Partnership FacilityThe Industry Partnership Facility (IPF) in Ottawa, ON is adjacent to the NRC-IIT labs on the NRC Montreal Road campus.




Industry Partnership Facility in FrederictonThe Industry Partnership Facility (IPF) in Fredericton, NB is located on the top floor of the new NRC-IIT e-Business facility on the University of New Brunswick - Fredericton campus. An incubating facility is also included in the NRC-IIT e-Learning site in Moncton, NB.

Specialized Facilities and Expertise

Software Quality Lab — Ottawa
Software Quality LabNRC-IIT’s Software Quality Lab (SQL) offers expertise and guidance in software inspection and metrics for software development process improvement. Future services will include software testing.

Tutorials and Talks
NRC-IIT's Software Quality Lab includes a fully equipped training facility. Courses on software metrics and software inspection are available on request. Please contact George Forester for more information.

A Tutorial on COTS Software Product Evaluation for Practitioners is also available.

NRC-IIT Colloquium Series
NRC-IIT hosts a series of talks to foster information exchange about academic and industrial research in a wide range of information technology areas.

University and Industry Associations

NRC-IIT takes a leading role in coordinating a number of university and industry associations and is a strong contributor to others. Please refer to the Consortium for Software Engineering Research (CSER) and C3.ca web sites for more information.
