Information Notice Concerning On-Line Services for the Health and Dental Care Plans

Public service employees and pensioners who are members of the health and dental care plans now have access via the Internet to their personal accounts, including claims information for themselves and their insured family members. Sun Life Financial is the Plan Administrator for the Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP) and the Pensioners Dental Services Plan (PDSP). Great-West Life Assurance Company of Canada is the Plan Administrator for the Public Service Dental Care Plan (PSDCP).

The on-line services now available include the ability to:

  • obtain coverage information,
  • download and print personalized claim forms,
  • view the status of claims and print details of past claims,
  • determine eligibility for the next vision care claim (PSHCP) or the next dental examination (PSDCP),
  • identify whom the plan member has covered as a dependant.

An access ID and password is necessary to enter each of the websites. These can be obtained by registering on-line at the web address listed below or by calling the Plan Administrators' Call Centres.

Steps have been taken to ensure that the on-line services offered by Sun Life Financial and Great-West Life Assurance company are compliant with privacy legislation and the confidentiality of on-line transactions is protected through the use of strong security technology. The websites provide complete information on the measures taken by both Sun Life Financial and Great-West Life Assurance Company to protect privacy. The Plan Administrators have appointed individuals within their company to receive and resolve privacy complaints.

The Plan Administrators have put controls into place to ensure that personal information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If a member sees that his or her personal information is inaccurate, the website contains clear information on how to correct the error.

These on-line services for the health and dental care plans are completely optional for all employees and pensioners. Whether plan members choose to activate their on-line account or not will have no impact on their plan benefits or services they receive from the insurance companies.
