Eligibility CriteriaTo be eligible, you must be studying in Canada, or be a Canadian student studying abroad, and satisfy the following criteria:
* Part-time students who are recognized by their academic institution as having a disability are also eligible to apply. ** For example, assuming a three-term academic year (Fall, Winter and Summer):
While non-Canadians may apply to FSWEP, preference is given to Canadian citizens. A Canadian citizen is a person who was born in Canada or who has applied through Citizenship and Immigration Canada and has received a citizenship certificate. Note: Students who are in their final year of academic study and who are not intending to return to full-time studies are only eligible to work part-time until the completion of their last full time academic term. Departments will ask you to provide proof that you meet these requirements. Part-time students are currently ineligible for the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP), but are encouraged to visit the Jobs Open to the Public Web site for possible federal employment opportunities. Students with full-time status may be enrolled in a physical academic environment or through a distance education/on-line program. Those classified in the distance education/on-line program must be classified as full-time by their academic institution. Re-Employment CriteriaThe PSC may authorize the re-employment of a student in an identical or similar job in the same or another department if he or she meets the following conditions:
To be considered for re-employment, students must satisfy each of the above requirements. |
