New version of Export Alert! makes smarter exporting easier Print

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 2007-02-01

The Standards Council of Canada today launched an updated version of its popular regulatory notification service Export Alert!  The revised Export Alert! offers a number of additional features making it easier for exporters to track changes to regulations affecting them.

Unexpected changes in regulations can be costly to exporters, and cause unwanted surprises.  Changes to technical requirements may introduce hurdles that can result in delays or even prevent market access.

Export Alert! provides notice of pending changes to trade-related regulations, as well as the opportunity to comment on proposed measures. In addition to monitoring regulatory developments from a range of countries, the newest version of Export Alert! allows subscribers to monitor regulatory changes under the World Trade Organization Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade and the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures. Administrative features also allow users to track their requests, access full texts, and offers links to a number of related information resources.

Export Alert! is made available with the support of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.  To learn more about Export Alert! or to subscribe, visit www.scc-ccn.ca.
