Paul A. Raynor, Senior Director, Corporate Communications

As Senior Director of Corporate Communications, Paul Raynor tells the story of VIA Rail Canada, its people and its success as a business, delivering strategic counsel and communications support to help VIA achieve its corporate goals. He directs the development and delivery of media and community relations programs as well as the planning and production of a family of communication tools for both internal and external audiences.

For more than two decades Mr. Raynor has been helping to foster meaningful dialogue between VIA and those with an active interest in passenger rail. As director of Public Affairs from 1995 to 2005, he shaped the Corporation's internal and external communications, provided strategic counsel, and managed relations with media and other key stakeholders. During this period VIA's profile rose to that of a Canadian leader in passenger transportation.

Mr. Raynor was born and raised in Toronto, and studied English, political science, economics and journalism at University of Toronto and Carleton University in Ottawa. He is an active member or director of several industry, media and professional associations, and advises community groups that support hospice care, battered women and the homeless. He has held key positions in publishing, documentary film production and public affairs.
