Base Funding Programs

Building Canada provides stable, predictable, and flexible funding which will allow Canadian municipalities, provinces and territories to plan for the longer term—allowing them to address their ongoing infrastructure needs.

Over half of the funding under the Building Canada plan will be provided as base funding to municipalities. In total, over $17.6 billion will be provided over seven years through the Gas Tax Fund and the Goods and Services Rebate.
