3D Anthropometry Visualization
3D Anthropometry Visualization
The shape of your next car seat could owe a lot to NRC researchers. They've created software for the visualization and analysis of body shape variability for CAESAR – the Civilian American and European Surface Anthropometry Resource. Anthropometry is the study of human body measurements. The CAESAR project created 3D digital scans of 5000 people of all ages and shapes. The NRC software enables users from automakers to clothing designers to use this data to fit their products to modern body shapes. The image shows the impact of posture on body shape.
