Research
The National Research Council's Institute for Marine Biosciences (NRC-IMB) is one of 20 NRC research institutes across Canada and serves a pivotal role in the dynamic and growing life sciences cluster in Nova Scotia. More than 100 skilled staff members target their research on:
- Characterization of bioactives
- Marine and natural toxins
- Proteomics and metabolomics
- Functional genomics
- Aquatic animal health and nutrition
NRC's comprehensive suite of life sciences laboratories on Oxford Street in Halifax, combined with the newly renovated Marine Research Station (MRS) on the nearby Atlantic coast, allows us to offer one of the world's most versatile marine research facilities.
