Between June 17 and November 2, 2003, the Pointe-à-Callière,
Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History hosted the exhibition
Archaeology and the Bible; From King David to the Dead Sea Scrolls.
When the exhibition moved to the Canadian Museum of Civilization
additional artefacts were incorporated and the title was changed to
Ancient Treasures and the Dead Sea Scrolls to take into account
the full range of materials presented and the expanded story line.
The exhibition
was shown at the Canadian Museum of Civilization between
December 5, 2003 and April 12, 2004.
The exhibition was organized by the
Israel Museum,
Jerusalem, in collaboration with the
Pointe-à-Callière,
Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History
and in partnership with the
Canadian
Museum of Civilization.
Artifacts on loan from the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, the Israel
Antiquities Authority, and the Library and Archives of Canada.
Exhibition produced in Canada by Pointe-à-Callière
in partnership with the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
Supported by the Department of Canadian Heritage through the
Canada Travelling Exhibitions Indemnification Program.
Most of the artifacts in this exhibition are normally on
permanent display at the Israel Museum.
