Canada's Visual History consists of eighty volumes,
each containing an historical essay written by a specialist on the topic,
thirty images, and suggestions for further reading. The volumes deal primarily
with Canada's social history and, in many cases, have a local or regional
focus. The texts, written by active historians, researchers and teachers,
provide in-depth information about their subjects. The images included
in the collection are a unique assembly of archival photos, rare paintings
and drawings, and original charts and maps.
