Efficiency NB [This link opens a new window], a crown corporate of the Government of New Brunswick, promotes ENERGY STAR qualified appliances and products in its public education initiatives as well as providing an ENERGY STAR Package Incentive Bonus as a component of its
New Homes Program [This link opens a new window].

The Government of the Northwest Territories Energy Efficiency Incentive Program [This link opens a new window] helps consumers to purchase more energy efficient products. The purchase of a new ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator (larger than 6.4 cubic feet) or a new ENERGY STAR qualified front-loading clothes washer qualifies for a $200 rebate for customers with diesel or natural gas or a $100 rebate for customers with hydro. The NTW also offers various rebates for the purchase and installation of high efficient furnaces or boilers, emission neutral wood or pellet stoves or efficient water heaters. The Province of Ontario has new rebates [This link opens a new window]. A Home Energy Retrofit Program that will provide up to $5,000 rebates for a home energy retrofit that include ENERGY STAR qualified furnaces for heating, solar domestic water systems and insulation.

A point-of-sale retail sales tax exemption for decorative light strings, ENERGY STAR qualified light bulbs, refrigerators, dishwashers, clothes washers, freezers, dehumidifiers and room air conditioners that are purchased, rented or leased after July 19, 2007 and before July 20, 2008. Province of Saskatchewan [This link opens a new window] offers a Provincial Sales Tax (PST) exemption for ENERGY STAR qualified appliances. The PST rebate for qualifying energy-efficient household appliances was converted to a point-of-sale tax exemption effective April 1, 2005. Appliances eligible for the PST rebate are ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers and clothes washers. The tax exemption applies to the sale or long-term lease (rentals for a continuous period of at least one year) of a new qualifying appliance. Combined clothes washer/dryer units are eligible for an exemption of 60 percent of the PST payable when the unit is sold for a single price. Used appliances are not eligible.

As well, the PST exemption for qualifying ENERGY STAR residential furnaces, boilers and ENERGY STAR heat pumps that was scheduled to conclude on March 31, 2007, has been extended indefinitely. For the period beginning November 8, 2005, qualifying energy-efficient furnaces and boilers are exempt from PST if purchased or leased for a continuous period of one year or more. For the period beginning July 1, 2006, qualifying ground and air source heat pumps, are exempt from PST if purchased or leased for a continuous period of one year or more. SaskEnergy [This link opens a new window] ENERGY STAR Loan Program. April 1 – September 30, 2007 SaskEnergy and participating SaskEnergy Network Members are offering residential customers prime rate loans (oac) on the purchase and installation of an ENERGY STAR qualified furnace with a high efficiency DC variable-speed motor. The BC Government offers a Provincial Sales Tax Exemption from February 21, 2007 to March 31, 2009, pre-manufactured ENERGY STAR qualified windows, skylights, doors, side lights and transoms are exempt from provincial sales tax. Also up to March 1, 2009, ENERGY STAR qualified residential forced air furnaces or boilers (gas-fired and oil-fired), air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps are eligible for a provincial tax exemption if purchased or leased for residential purposes. The Yukon Government's Energy Solutions Centre's Washer Rebate Program [This link opens a new window] will provide a $75 cash rebate to Yukon residents who purchase an ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washing machine between January 1 and March 15, 2007. An additional $50 rebate is available to Yukon residents living in communities where electricity is generated using diesel fuel. Enbridge Gas Distribution [This link opens a new window] is offering their customers a $100.00 rebate on all ENERGY STAR qualified high-efficiency natural gas heating systems. Receive a $100 rebate on an ENERGY STAR qualified high-efficiency natural gas heating system that is purchased and installed between September 1, 2007 and March 31, 2008. Enbridge Gas [This link opens a new window] is offering all residential and small commercial customers a $100 on-bill credit for upgrading their existing heating system to an ENERGY STAR qualified high efficiency natural gas forced air furnace or boiler heating system from April 1, 2007 to September 30, 2007. Centra Windows [This link opens a new window] is offering free glazing upgrades with the purchase and installation of ENERGY STAR qualified Centra windows during the Big Window Event for homeowners in Greater Vancouver and selected regions of British Columbia. Hydro-Québec  [This link opens a new window] is offering mail-in rebates of 100 $ on the purchase of a new ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers from January 1st to December 31 2007 and 50 $ on the purchase of a new ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator of at least 8.5 cu. ft. until December 31, 2007. Appliances must be purchased and delivered in Québec.

Manitoba Hydro’s Power Smart Furnace/Boiler Replacement Program [This link opens a new window] offers a $245 credit on customers‚ natural gas bill for the installation of a new ENERGY STAR qualified high-efficiency furnace or boiler. The Power Smart Home Insulation Program [This link opens a new window] offers financial incentives on the purchase of insulation (up to 100 per cent of the material cost ) that must meet eligibility requirements and insulating work that must meet the minimum Power Smart levels. The Power Smart Appliance Rebate Program [This link opens a new window] offers rebates on ENERGY STAR qualified appliances: $100 for clothes washers, $50 for fridges, and $25 for chest freezers. FortisBC [This link opens a new window] offers all its customers an incentive for energy efficient air-source heat pumps through the PowerSense Air Source Heat Pump Program. For qualifying models, the financial incentives will consist of either a rebate or financing of up to $5,000 over 10 years at 4.9% fixed rate. FortisBC PowerSense offers other incentives for energy efficient upgrades for new or existing homes. The Province of Saskatchewan [This link opens a new window] offers a Provincial sales tax exemption on the purchase of ENERGY STAR qualified household furnaces and boilers. Terasen Gas [This link opens a new window] is offering a $300 rebate for converting to a high-efficiency ENERGY STAR qualified natural gas heating system purchased and installed from July 1, 2007 and December 31, 2007 for Squamish residents only. Full details are available on their web site.

The Energy Efficiency Fund [This link opens a new window] will offer owners of residences supplied by Gaz Métro for heating purposes a $5 per square feet rebate with the purchase of high energy efficiency ENERGY STAR windows and sliding doors, up to maximum of $500.

Gaz Métro [This link opens a new window] offers a $30 financial incentive on the purchase of an ENERGY STAR programmable electronic thermostat. Financial incentives up to $450 are also available on the purchase of ENERGY STAR high efficiency hot air furnace and up to $600 for an ENERGY STAR superior energy efficiency boiler.
