WINGS OF COURAGE IN IMAX® — A true story of courage, love and loyaltySTARRING CRAIG SHEFFER, ELIZABETH McGOVERN, TOM HULCE AND VAL KILMER!
Hull, Quebec, March 25, 1997 - Starting April 1, 1997, the Canadian Museum of Civilization presents WINGS OF COURAGE, the first dramatic IMAX® film directed by Academy Award® winner Jean-Jacques Annaud (Quest For Fire, The Lover, The Bear, etc.). WINGS OF COURAGE tells the true story of three legendary pioneer aviators: Henri Guillaumet (Craig Sheffer), Jean Mermoz (Val Kilmer) and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (Tom Hulce) who made the first historic airmail flights across the treacherous Andes Mountains. This is a tale of high adventure, love and excitement, and is the fulfilment of one of Annaud's long-held dreams.
For the audience, WINGS OF COURAGE is a new kind of IMAX® film. For the first time, Hollywood superstars appear on the giant screen, and for the first time IMAX® uses a dramatic approach instead of a documentary approach to depict real events. The result is that the audience becomes more emotionally involved in the film, making the IMAX® experience even more realistic.
