The Québec Pension Plan is a compulsory public insurance plan. Its purpose is to provide persons who work in Québec (or have worked in Québec) and their families with basic financial protection in the event of retirement, death or disability. The Plan's future is guaranteed, thanks to the measures made possible by the 1998 reform.
How is the Plan financed?
The Plan is financed by contributions from Québec workers and employers. These contributions are collected by Revenu Québec and are managed by the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.
