Canada and Greece Sign a Cooperation Agreement in the Area of Sports
SANTORINI, September 26, 2000 -- Minister of Canadian Heritage Sheila Copps and Greek Culture Minister Theodoros Pangalos today signed a cooperation agreement in the area of sports. This agreement will allow experts and officials of both countries to strengthen their collaboration in an area crucial to youth."Canada is proud of the relationship that has developed with Greece in the area of sports," said Minister Copps. "In these days of Olympic fever, Canada is proud to strengthen cooperation and promotion of exchanges with Greece, the cradle of Western Civilization and the Olympic Movement."
In accordance with this agreement, both countries will exchange information on issues of common interest and will facilitate exchanges of experts and officials.
This agreement is effective immediately.
