UNDECLARED MILK IN MEXI-SNAX TORTILLA CHIPS

OTTAWA, November 16, 2007 - The public warning issued on November 15, 2007, has been updated to include additional information on product distribution. The affected product has been distributed nationally.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to milk proteins not to consume Mexi-Snax All Natural Pico de Gallo Tortilla Chips described below. This product may contain milk which is not declared on the label.

The affected product, Mexi-Snax All Natural Pico de Gallo Tortilla Chips, product of USA, is sold in a 255 g package bearing Best By date FEB 12 08 and lot code 2SAQZ B.

This product has been distributed nationally.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein.

The importer is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
