Implementing the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals in Canada

In October 2003, a workshop was held to launch the implementation of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals in Canada. The objectives were:

  • for the government to explain the GHS and to start to build a common understanding;
  • for the government to listen as stakeholders express their ideas about GHS implementation;
  • to identify issues associated with the implementation of GHS in Canada and
  • to identify options/solutions for the implementation of GHS in Canada.

This section provides the results of this workshop.
