AN ACT TO AMEND CERTAIN LAWS RELATING TO FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS
Order Fixing October 1, 2007 as the Date of the Coming into Force of Section 47 of the Act

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 412 of An Act to amend certain laws relating to financial institutions, assented to on April 25, 1997, being chapter 15 of the Statutes of Canada, 1997, hereby fixes October 1, 2007 as the day on which section 47 of that Act comes into force.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order.)
This Order brings into force, on October 1, 2007, section 47 of An Act to amend certain laws relating to financial institutions, chapter 15 of the Statutes of Canada, 1997. That section amends subparagraph 427(7)(b)(ii) of the Bank Act to provide that the amount referred to in that subparagraph be prescribed by regulations, which regulations are made under section 978 of that Act. The section also repeals subsection 427(8) of that Act.
